Early on the morning of April 11th, 2024, the news broke that the Cleveland Browns and star running back Nick Chubb agreed to a reworked final year of his contract to lower his base salary from $15.85 million to $11.775 million. The salary can be made up with incentives. It was speculated that Chubb could be released by the Browns. But with this deal now in place, Nick Chubb will remain a Cleveland Brown through the 2024 season. NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport broke the story on X.

This deal is considered a win for both parties involved. Nick Chubb is still rehabbing from a serious 2023-week 2 knee injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Cleveland Browns are in win now mode. And they feel Nick Chubb can be a contributing member of this team in 2024. Nick Chubb wants to stay in Cleveland and win a championship. The Browns want Nick Chubb to play the rest of his career in Cleveland. What Browns fans wonder is when can Chubb play and how much can he play in 2024?

The true answer to Nick Chubb’s 2024 status can’t be answered until around training camp. But judging by the willingness of both Nick Chubb and the Browns to rework the final year of his contract. They are both betting on him having a productive 2024 season. In six seasons for the Cleveland Browns Nick Chubb rushed for 6,511 yards and 48 touchdowns. The Cleveland Browns and Nick Chubb want to add to that total production. That is what Cleveland Browns fans are hoping for in 2024.
