Around the AFC South: Week 17

The Jacksonville Jaguars snapped their four-game losing streak with a 26-0 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. C.J. Beathard started the game for the injured Trevor Lawrence and threw for 178 yards. Jacksonville went run-heavy without their starting quarterback. They ran the ball 35 times for 155 yards and two touchdowns led by Travis Etienne who had 102 yards and both touchdowns. It looks like Lawrence could have a chance to play in week 18 when the Jaguars take on the Tennessee Titans. Jacksonville wins the AFC South with a win.

The Indianapolis Colts got past the Las Vegas Raiders 23-20 to keep pace in the AFC South. Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 21 times for 96 yards and a touchdown in the win. Gardner Minshew chipped in 224 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon. The Colts face the Houston Texans on Saturday. The winner of that game will make the playoffs either as a Wild Card if the Jaguars beat the Titans or as the AFC South Champions if the Jaguars lose.

The Texans got to 9-7 by beating the Titans 26-3. C.J. Stroud threw for 213 yards and a touchdown in his return after missing two weeks due to a concussion. Nico Collins led all Houston pass catchers with seven catches for 80 yards. Will Levis started the game for the Titans but had to leave in the first quarter after suffering a foot injury. Ryan Tannehill finished the game and played really well. He was 16 of 20 for 168 yards. Houston plays a win and in game against the Colts in Indianapolis on Saturday. The Titans will have the chance to spoil the Jaguars season on Sunday.
