Steelers claim LB released by the Ravens ahead of the AFC Championship Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers season is over, but the Baltimore Ravens are still playing. While the Ravens prepare for the AFC Championship game, they are looking towards their game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs at M&T Bank Stadium, and nothing else. Therefore, when the Ravens had the opportunity to get tight end Mark Andrews off Injured Reserve (IR), they had to make a roster move to have room for him on the 53-man roster.

The Steelers season is over, and they are filling out their 90-man offseason roster. With that said, they saw the player the Ravens waived, linebacker Jeremiah Moon, and claimed him to their roster.

This per Dale Lolley of Steelers.com:

Moon is an outside linebacker out of the University of Florida. Moon went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft before being signed by the Ravens as an UDFA. Moon was signed to the team’s practice squad, and eventually signed a Future/Reserve Contract at the end of the 2022-2023 season. In October of 2023 Moon was waived by the Ravens, but cleared waivers and was re-signed to the practice squad. In January Moon was promoted to the active roster and tallied 12 tackles and 2 forced fumbles in limited time.

His second time getting waived didn’t equate to him back on the practice squad, but now a member of the Steelers once the season is over for Baltimore. In the meantime, the Steelers can now count on Moon being in their facility this offseason to possibly round out the outside linebacker room who will likely lose Markus Golden in free agency this offseason.
