National media are starting to buy into the Steelers in 2023

It wasn’t that long ago when the Pittsburgh Steelers were being discussed as one of the worst teams in the AFC. If national media outlets were putting together their famous “tiers”, the Steelers always found themselves in the bottom half of the conference. If you were talking about league rankings, that got real ugly real quick.

Fans of the black-and-gold grew tired of hearing the same old song and dance every time they turned on their televisions or opened up their social media apps. Disrespect for their favorite team at every turn.

But if you’ve been paying attention, things have changed throughout the Steelers 3-0 preseason. No, it wasn’t just the perfect record, but the way they’ve gone about their business. Steelers fans might be more optimistic than they once were, but the team’s preseason success didn’t blind side the global fan base.

National media are desperately trying to climb on board the Steelers bandwagon heading into the regular season, and many fans aren’t really sure how to take all the extra, and positive, attention the team has been getting.

Whether you like it or not, sometimes it’s nice to hear people talking about the Steelers in a positive tone. In case you missed some of the love the Steelers have received over the past two weeks, with preseason wins over the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons, check out some of those clips below:

To be fair, not all of these national media pundits are just now singing praises of the Steelers, some, like Brandt, have been backers of the team, and Mike Tomlin, for years. With all that said, how do you feel about national media piling on the love? Like it? Hate it? Wish they would stop so the Steelers could play the role of “dark horse”?
