Cleveland Browns Not Going to Brazil, what does it mean?

On the morning of April 10, 2024, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paolo Brazil on September 6th, 2024, to start their 2024 season. The Cleveland Browns were also considered an opponent for the Eagles that night. But the league chose the Packers. What impact will this have on the Cleveland Browns 2024 season?

The Cleveland Browns did show interest and desire to open the 2024 season in Brazil. But the NFL thought otherwise. I would believe that the Browns will get at least two nationally televised games. Probably a Sunday night and a Monday night game. They did not have a Sunday night game last season. So, I can see that happening. Also, it could be possible to have a Thursday night game as well. I would think the home game versus the Chiefs would be a fit for a nationally televised game. A division game could also work for a Monday night or Sunday night game too. A rumor of going to London to play the Jaguars surfaced yesterday to add further speculation. Browns fans may also ask where will the Browns open their 2024 season?

I truly believe that the Browns will open the 2024 season at home. This is because on Friday September 13th, 2024, Cleveland Browns Stadium will be hosting a Billy Joel and Rod Stewart concert. The field would probably need a week to be prepared for a Browns home game. And I don’t expect any team to open the first two weeks of their season on the road. Who could the 2024 home opening opponent be for the Cleveland Browns?

I know that the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs will not be the home opening opposing team for the Browns. The Chiefs will kick off the 2024 NFL Season in Kansas City. The official schedule will probably be announced on Thursday May 9th. That is about the usual time the NFL does that announcement. At his point it is anyone’s guess.
