Week 4 Daily Fantasy Football Preview

Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Preview. This weekly article will dive into all the best values and bets for the upcoming week of NFL action. If you’re a competitive DFS player or want a leg up on the weekend’s betting action, this is the place for you! Let’s dive into the Week 4 slate.

Note: All fantasy statistics mentioned in this article are based on Draft Kings salaries and player and team rankings. The value options mentioned should be viable on most DFS platforms and sportsbooks.

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL “ONE NIGHT STAND”

Draft Kings’ NFL Showdown Captain Mode contest for TNF. Entry $15. $1M to 1st. DET vs GB.

MUST PLAYS

JAHMYR GIBBS | RB | Captain Slot (+1.5 pts)
Gibbs is primed to breakout on one of his touches, and the Packers are one of the worst teams at stopping opposing RBs, giving up the 8th most points to the position through 3 weeks. Play with confidence, even with David Montgomery (Q) likely to suit up according to a correction made by Tom Pelissero Thursday morning.

LUKE MUSGRAVE | TE | Flex
Musgrave is earning the trust of his QB, Jordan Love, and faces the league’s most generous defense to opposing Tight Ends. The Packers have a lot of mouths to feed, but the matchup is too good to pass up.

SAM LAPORTA | TE | Flex
The matchup isn’t as good for LaPorta against a middling Packers defense, but he’s the top receiving option in Detroit outside of Amon-Ra St. Brown, and you can get him for $3,600 less. He’s a matchup nightmare in the middle of the field in this offense.

SUNDAY DFS DARLINGS (Value plays under $5,500 salary)

Draft Kings NFL Classic $3.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire. Entry $20. $1M to 1st. 9-player roster.

QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO (LV) vs. LAC – $5,300
If Jimmy G. clears concussion protocol, he has a chance to go off in a game against a Chargers defense giving up massive point totals to opposing passers over the first 3 weeks of the season. This game is a DFS dream.

QB BRYCE YOUNG (CAR) vs. MIN – $5,200
Young is also coming off an injury, and if he plays faces one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL in Minnesota. If Young misses this game, however, I like the value of Andy Dalton even more. You could do worse than the Panthers’ starting QB if you need a value play at the position. Whoever that turns out to be.

RB JAYLEN WARREN (PIT) vs. HOU – $5,000
Warren’s role is growing, he has big-play ability, and Houston’s porous run defense is a great matchup. You have to like Warren’s passing game usage as well. He has the 5th most targets at the position through 3-weeks.

RB ROSCHON JOHNSON (CHI) vs. DEN – $4,900
Much like Warren, Johnson’s earning more and more touches for Chicago on a weekly basis, and game-script should be more favorable this week against a Denver defense that just got demolished by Miami’s run game a week ago. Great value here.

WR NICO COLLINS (HOU) vs. PIT – $5,100
The Steelers have given up over 91 PPR fantasy points to opposing WR1s through 3 weeks, and Nico Collins is the type of big-bodied, route-savvy receiver that has given this defense problems.

WR JACOBY MEYERS (LV) vs. LAC – $5,500
If the Chargers focus all their attention on Davante Adams, Meyers will absolutely go off. Again, monitor the Jimmy Garoppolo situation closely, but if the starting QB is in, Meyers is a must start at this price.

TE DYLAN PARHAM JR. (LAC) vs. LV – $2,800
More Chargers/Raiders? Yup! Parham is the ultimate TE value play. Low-cost, low-volume Red Zone monster. He has 3 TDs in 3 games. If you load up on big priced players elsewhere, you can get good upside here.

TE DALTON KINCAID (BUF) vs. MIA – $3,200
Kincaid saw his fewest targets of the season against the Commanders, but game script vs. Miami should call for a ton of Josh Allen attempts. I suspect a fair portion to find their way to the former Utah star.
