Texas Tech Claims Final Scoreboard on the Diamond

In a must win game, delayed well into the evening, Texas Tech took on Texas one last time. Following a disappointing finish to the regular season, expectations were not particularly high. But in a back-and-forth battle, Tech claims the last laugh.

The Red Raiders leaned on strong performances from Robinson and Sanders, who closed the game and recorded the win. Overall, Tech threw four arms with the real key to the game being clutch pitching in key moments to minimize the damage. Robinson would throw 5 innings and give up four runs alongside 4 walks. But his 6 strikeouts kept Texas from generating too much traffic on the base path. Sanders pitched for contact, only surrendering one hit.

Offensively, Woodcox would respond to Texas taking an early lead with a solo shot of his own. After Texas claimed a 4-1 advantage in the fourth, once again a Texas Tech bat would respond. Austin Green tied the game in one big swing with a three-run bomb. Homeruns would continue to be the story as a two run, one-out shot by Cade McGee would give Tech the 6-4 advantage that prove to be the final score.

Texas Tech gets the last laugh over Texas, and holds that all important scoreboard.
