Alright Big 12 fans, after a brief hiatus, the weekly Around the Big 12 post is back. We’re going to dive into this weeks games, and touch briefly on all of the respective schools’ season with a grade so far going into the October 21st slate. Without further interruption, lets get started.

UCF @ #6 OU- The Dillon Gabriel Bowl is on. OU should handle business without issue…UCF might have a chip on their shoulder though…maybe close early. 11:00 a.m. ABC

Baylor @ Cincinnati- Wow. What an interesting game in the home of Skyline Chili. Hopefully someone in this game comes out a winner because this could be a snoozer. 11:00 a.m. ESPN+

Oklahoma State @ West Virginia- Actually interested in this one…WVU has gotten off to a strong start before Donovan Smith played spoiler…OKST quietly playing somewhat decent ball with Bowman. We’ll see what happens. 2:30 p.m. ESPN

Texas @ Houston- Texas should get back on track with this one. I imagine it will be done by half. 3:00 p.m. FOX

Texas Tech @ BYU- BYU hosting Tech is a battle of polar opposites…in terms of almost everything except teams…this one will be close, I’d flip a coin at this point. 6:00 p.m. FS1

TCU @ Kansas State- Purple Battle in the Little Apple. Can I TradeMark that? I got dibs so don’t use it. K-State played their best game of the year in Lubbock…can they keep it rolling? 6:00 p.m. ESPN2

Now for the grades for each team so far this season.

Baylor- D-. Baylor was thinking about a shot at getting back to the Big 12 title game. Not gonna happen.

BYU- B. I think BYU is right on par for the course if not better at 4-2.

Cincy- C-. Cincy tried to make noise but no dice. At least not yet.

Houston- B-. I think Houston is right around their mark as well at this point.

Iowa State- A. This team was supposed to go 1-11. They’re 4-3. Matt Campbell might have saved his job.

Kansas- A. KU is a football school. Maybe an everything school? Who knows?

Kansas State- A-. After losing Deuce Vaughn, 4-2 is a great spot to be in.

Oklahoma- A+. Sooners might be back. MIGHT BE.

Oklahoma State- B. Pokes have surprised some people this year…including me.

Texas- A. Thought they might be close to back. Loses to OU. We’ll see how they respond.

Texas Christian- D. Natty to nothin…oh well.

Texas Tech- F-. Texas Tech had the most hype of anyone this year. What a massive letdown they’ve been.

UCF- C. I think the Knights might’ve underestimated the Big 12 gauntlet.

West Virginia- A. Neal Brown has saved his job barring an epic collapse.
