Tony Khan’s Return Sets AEW Dynamite on Fire

The Elite gave Bryan Danielson a 43rd birthday present last night on AEW Dynamite: a bounty match against India’s favorite giant, Satnam Singh.

Danielson put the big guy in the LeBell Lock, so Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal ran in for the disqualification.

Beating up Danielson looked like fun, so The Elite came down and did just that. FTR was injured, and Darby Allin was banned from the building.

But AEW boss Tony Khan returned from his neck injury and lifted the ban on Allin, who showed up with a FLAMETHROWER to chase the heels away. That has to be a first in pro wrestling.

This leads to the Anarchy in the Arena match at Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per view. Danielson, Allin and FTR will take on The Elite (The Young Bucks, Jack Perry & Kazuchika Okada).

Nick Wayne got a match last night against AEW World champion Swerve Strickland, who he used to watch on independent shows back when Wayne was 14. Of course, that was only five years ago.

Swerve pinned Wayne after a House Call kick and also beat up his PPV challenger, Christian Cage. Christian had tried to drive away from the arena, only to be blocked by Coffee-Sipping Prince Nana.

Malachi Black defeated Kyle O’Reilly, only to get hit with an old-school Brood-style bloodbath from Adam Copeland. They will meet in a barbed-wire steel cage match for Copeland’s TNT title at Double or Nothing.

TAG TEAM ACTION

Trent Baretta & Roderick Strong beat Orange Cassidy & Will Ospreay when Strong pinned Cassidy after the “End of Heartache” backbreaker. At the PPV, Baretta will face Orange, while Ospreay will challenge Strong for the AEW International title.

Toni Storm teamed with her protegee, Mariah May, to defeat Harley Cameron & Saraya. Serena Deeb attacked Storm leading into Sunday’s bout for the Women’s title.

The Bang Bang Gang (Jay White & The Gunns) came out with a wagon full of trios championship belts. They got into a brawl with Death Triangle (Lucha Brothers & PAC). If the Lucha Bros can beat the Gunns on Collision, their PPV match will be for the AEW and ROH six-man titles.

Hook and Katsuyori Shibata both made “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith tap out in a three-way match. As a result, they will both challenge Chris Jericho for the FTW title at Double or Nothing.

Konosuke Takeshita defeated Matt Sydal, and then he got bashed with a microphone by New Japan’s World champion, Jon Moxley. They will face off in a non-title match at the PPV.

AEW will present a live episode of Collision on Saturday in Las Vegas, before celebrating its 5th anniversary at Double or Nothing.
