Steelers elevate Qadree Ollison again for Week 3

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made an expected practice squad elevation for their Week 3 matchup in Las Vegas against the Raiders. For the second-straight week, the Steelers have elevated running back Qadree Ollison to the active roster.

Qadree Ollison was a fifth-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2019 NFL draft out of Pittsburgh. In three years with the Falcons, Ollison appeared in 19 games with 44 rushing attempts and 158 rushing yards with five rushing touchdowns, four of which came in his rookie season. Ollison spent the 2022 season with the Dallas Cowboys where he appeared in three games with no offensive statistics as he was used primarily on special teams. Ollison was added to the Steelers practice squad just ahead of the 2023 season after spending training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With Anthony McFarland being placed on the Reserve/Injured List (IR) last week, Ollison was elevated for the Steelers Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns. Ollison did not see an offensive snaps in the game but did have five snaps on special teams.

Earlier this week, the Steelers added running back Godwin Igwebuike from the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. Only having one week of practice with the Steelers, it appears as if they have chosen to go with Ollison again this week in the third running back spot with Igwebuike most likely being inactive for game day.

With this being the second time Ollison has been elevated from the practice squad, he will revert back to the Steelers without having to pass through waivers. Players can be elevated from the practice squad without going through waivers up to three times.
