James Harrison congratulates T.J. Watt on tying his Steelers sack record

There wasn’t much to enjoy in the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The 30-7 drubbing left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth, but it wasn’t as if there wasn’t some good stuff which took place at Acrisure Stadium Sunday.

T.J. Watt’s three sacks of Brock Purdy put him in a tie with James Harrison for the Pittsburgh Steelers all-time sack record. There wasn’t much fanfare after the game over the moment, but the man fans called “Deebo” noticed and took to Twitter to send his congratulations.

Here is the post from Harrison:

It was a race between Watt and Cam Heyward as to who would get to the mark first, Heyward needing 2.5 sacks and Watt needing 3, but when Heyward left the game early with a groin injury it opened up the door for Watt to tie the mark. The next step will be when Watt surpasses Harrison as the Steelers all-time sack master.

A big congratulations to Watt for tying the record, but we all look forward to him cementing his growing legacy with the organization, hopefully in Week 2 when the Steelers host the Cleveland Browns at Acrisure Stadium on Monday Night Football.
