Grading The Steelers 2024 NFL Draft Pick: Logan Lee

Welcome to the Steel Curtain Network’s coverage of the 2024 NFL Draft.

I have been giving the distinction of trying to apply an initial letter grade for each of the Steelers selections in the 2024 NFL Draft. I must acknowledge that I have been doing this portion of our draft coverage for years, and I take the responsibility very seriously.

Every grade given is determined by perceived draft value based on pre-draft projections, and projected scheme fit with the Steelers. I take a consensus of all available evaluations into consideration as I formulate my draft board. Hopefully everyone enjoys the final product, because it really is a labor of love.

With all that being said, let’s get this party started.

With the 178th selection of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Iowa DE Logan Lee.

Logan Lee is a high effort hustler with a non-stop motor. He was a consistent contributor on one of the top defenses in college football last season. His 6’5″ height is ideal for a Steelers DE, but he will need to add another 20 to his 281 lbs. frame. A converted TE, Lee moves well for his size, and he never gives up on a play. Lee has a reputation as a hard worker, which will be necessary as he continues to grow stronger and add to his pass rush repertoire. Lee also received recognition for his hustle and leadership skills.

Logan Lee is a talented project, who I believe is capable of pushing Isaiahh Loudermilk and DeMarvin Leal for a roster spot in 2024. Especially if he can live up to the Keisel comparison and excel on special teams. It appears that the kid has the motor and intensity to do just that.

That brings us to the grading portion of this article. Based on the parameters listed at the beginning of this article, I  give Logan Lee’s early sixth round selection an initial draft grade of B.

I was honestly unfamiliar with Lee when his selection was announced. That’s when my colleagues who were familiar with his abilities and attributes came to the rescue. They told me his immediate comparison was the Beard himself, meaning a young Brett Keisel. That’s all I needed to hear. A quick dive into his film confirmed the comparison. I see an extremely athletic project with plenty of talent and room to grow.

I want to welcome Logan Lee to the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise. Looking forward to watching you repping the black and gold.
