What the New Generation of Cleveland Browns Fans Can Expect

From 1999 through 2019 the Cleveland Browns were bad. In that twenty-year period, they only had two winning seasons and one playoff season.  And for 16 of those seasons the Cleveland Browns had lost ten games or more. And yet the Browns fans stayed loyal, and that loyalty is about to be rewarded.

In the 2020 offseason the Cleveland Browns hired Head Coach Kevin Stefanski and General Manager Andrew Berry. That season the Browns went to the playoffs and won a playoff game in Pittsburgh. It seemed as if the team came out of nowhere and emerged a contender. However, the loyal Browns fans saw the accumulation of talent on the team that started in 2017. And they were not surprised by the 2020 showing. 2021 and 2022 ended with injuries, suspensions, and disappointments. The Browns did not make the playoffs in those years. Then 2023 happened for the Cleveland Browns.

The 2023 Cleveland Browns season was even more amazing when you look at what the team accomplished despite the adversity they were dealt. 26% of the team’s salary cap was on injured reserve. They were playing their 4th and 5th offensive tackles as starters. The 2023 Cleveland Browns were able to beat the eventual NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers with PJ Walker starting at quarterback. And the 2023 Browns clinched a playoff spot in week 17, they were able to rest their starters on week 18. Based on the 2023 season, what can be expected of the Cleveland Browns in 2024 and beyond?

The new younger generation of Cleveland Browns fans can expect a good football team. A football team that Cleveland Browns fans can be proud to have. Division rivals like the Steelers and Ravens have good teams every year for a reason. They both have organizational stability and continuity. With extensions for both Stefanski and Berry being imminent, the Cleveland Browns now have stability and continuity. Expectations of the Browns will be high every year moving forward. Which will be a welcome change to prior expectations of losing. And that change will be welcomed by the new generation of Cleveland Browns fans!
