Mattt LaFleur Is An Elite NFL Head Coach

It is time that the head coach of the Green Bay Packers finally gets the credit he deserves. Matt LaFleur has successfully been able to transition from coaching arguably the greatest quarterback of all-time in Aaron Rodgers to an ascending superstar quarterback in Jordan Love. Regardless of who is taking snaps under center, LaFleur has proven that he is one of the best coaches in the NFL. Here, specifically, is why he deserves a ton of credit for what has happened during his tenure in Green Bay:

A Winner

No, Matt LaFleur has not made it to the Super Bowl yet. No, he hasn’t made it past the NFC Championship Game yet. But with the way things are moving in Green Bay, Wisconsin currently, he is going to get there soon.  Also, he continues to put the Packers in contention year after year regardless of the changes that occur each offseason.

LaFleur is 59-31 in his five seasons in Green Bay. It has been a historic start for the former division II quarterback. He has taken the Packers to the playoffs four times and led them to three NFC North crowns. They have had multiple top-10 offenses and the quarterback play between Rodgers and Love has been spectacular.

Football IQ

It cannot get lost how much LaFleur has seen while coaching in the NFL, especially as an offensive coach. He has been on staffs with the likes of brilliant offensive minds like Mike Shanahan, Gary Kubiak, Kyle Shanahan, and Sean McVay. He has also coached elite offensive talent. He was the QBs coach in Washington that helped put Kirk Cousins on the map. He was the QBs coach it Atlanta when Matt Ryan won the MVP in 2016. Of course, fans know what he has done with Aaron Rodgers and now Jordan Love in Green Bay.

Viewers also should take into account the skill-position players that he has spent time around. Andre Johnson, Julio Jones, Derrick Henry, Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Jones, and many others. He knows what greatness looks like, and Packers fans are seeing that experience shine through on Sundays at Lambeau.

The Packers’ 2024 Outlook

Green Bay is ready to roll in 2024. After making it to within 15 minutes of the NFC Championship Game in the first year without Aaron Rodgers, the Packers still have a bad taste in their mouth after surpassing all expectations with flying colors. With an elite quarterback in Jordan Love, a new All-Pro running back in Josh Jacobs, and a brilliant, aggressive defensive mind in new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, the Packers are ready to go win the Super Bowl this season despite their youth across the board. Thank Matt LaFleur for it all.
