An early preview of the Week 13 MNF Game in Denver

On December 2, 2024, the Cleveland Browns head to Denver Colorado to play the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. This week 13 matchup will be the second consecutive primetime game for the Cleveland Browns. Historically the Browns do not fare well when playing in Denver. But this Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns teams are each headed in different directions.

This last offseason the Denver Broncos got worse while the Cleveland Browns improved. Denver released their starting quarterback, Russell Wilson. Wilson was quickly signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Denver then used a first-round draft pick on Bo Nix from Oregon. Meanwhile they still must pay Russell Wilson the next two years. Also, the Browns traded with Denver for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. It appears that the Denver Broncos under the leadership of Sean Payton is in a rebuild this season. The Cleveland Browns however expect to contend in 2024.

Along with the addition of Jerry Jeudy, the Cleveland Browns bolstered their backup quarterback positions by signing Jameis Winston and Ty Huntley. In 2023 when the Browns played in Denver, Deshaun Watson was injured, and the Browns had to play Dorian Thomson-Robinson and PJ Walker at quarterback. It did not go well for Cleveland. The Browns lost to Denver 29-12. Cleveland doesn’t plan to be in another vulnerable position in 2024.

In an NFL season during the month of December all teams have injury issues. The grind does wear on a team’s roster that lacks depth. The Cleveland Browns feel that they addressed their needs on the roster. Staying healthy is the main caveat for the Cleveland Browns success in 2024. Overall health and depth at key positions will be indicative of a Cleveland Browns playoff run. A run that begins to take place in December on national television.
