Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh suspended 4 games for recruiting violations

With NFL teams reporting back to training camp, college football is also getting back to work as they prepare for players to get back on campus and start the ramp up for the upcoming season. One of the premiere college programs just learned they will be without their head coach for four games in 2023.

The program is Michigan, and the coach is none other than Jim Harbaugh.

What was the reason for the suspension? Right now it is being listed as “recruiting violations”.

While Michigan is a program which absolutely can withstand the loss of their coach, it is also a blow for the team as they now deal with the loss of Harbaugh, but also the stigma of a program who is trying to skirt the rules to gain an advantage.

Today’s college sports certainly limit the amount of violations to take place. With Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) money available, paying players is not a huge impact for programs. With the transfer portal, players can move where they want to go, and where they feel is the best place for them.

At this time it is unknown what infractions took place, but be sure to stay tuned to FFSN as more details come to light. In the meantime, if you are a fan of Big Blue, this is not good new for a team with national championship aspirations on a yearly basis.
