Knee Jerk Reactions of the Steelers Selections In Round 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft

Knee-jerk Reactions are immediate responses to a situation without taking the time to analyze the situation. That’s something as sports fans that we typically do. Especially if you are a full blood Yinzer, or even just a part Yinzer. As is the custom, I compile my knee jerk thoughts and publish them immediately after each Steelers game. It’s my version of running my mouth first and apologizing later (or not apologizing at all). So with that being said, I’m going to employ that philosophy here during the 2024 NFL Draft.

  • Another tap in of Lil’ Bro for Big Bro.
  • 100 picks down, 157 picks to go today.
  • Luckily it’s only 19 picks until the Steelers are up again.
  • After yesterday, I’m fine with whatever the Steelers do today. I hope I don’t regret that statement.
  • Getting close. I have no idea where they are going to go.
  • More offensive line! The Steelers select IOL Mason McCormick from South Dakota State.
  • Another nasty mauler. I like it.
  • Some might question taking a guard here, but James Daniels is heading into the last year of his deal.
  • And now we wait…
  • There goes the next QB at 150. From 12 to 150 is quite the separation.
  • Trotter Jr. goes to the Eagles. That seems appropriate.
  • Man, this is a long break.
  • Another QB goes, this time to the Jets. Not that it affects the Steelers.
  • The Steelers stick with the trenches. It’s defensive tackle Logan Lee from Iowa.
  • So in 6 picks, it’s 4 guys in the trenches, an LB, and a WR.
  • Lee is only 280 lbs. That’s interesting.
  • Quick turnaround for pick 195. What position will they grab?
  • Joe Milton goes to the Pats. If the Steelers were thinking of a late QB that’s who I wanted.
  • I think this has to be a slot CB. But it could be anything.
  • And it’s a cornerback. Ryan Watts from Texas, previously of Ohio State.
  • Andrew Wilbar likes him better as a safety. I won’t argue.
  • It’s not like I’m overly excited about the Day 3 picks, but I didn’t expect to be. These are usually guys I have to learn more about after they are picked.
  • I love that the Steelers took 3 offensive linemen and one defensive lineman.
  • The big question is if all these players make the 53-man roster? Let the debate begin.
  • Well, that’s a wrap on the 2024 NFL draft for the Steelers. Bring on training camp!

There you have it, my knee jerks. Bring on the undrafted free agents and the breakdown on picks. CAN’T WAIT!
