Browns make a Week 6 visit to the city of brotherly love

In week six of the NFL season the Cleveland Browns travel to Philadelphia Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. As of today, and on paper this can be the first tough road game for the Cleveland Browns in 2024. The Eagles did have a disappointing end to their 2023 season losing 5 of their last 6 games after starting their season 10-1. They finished with an 11-6 record and lost the NFC Wildcard game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9. But the Eagles are still a good team.

In 2024 every team starts the season 0-0 and it is a new year for all NFL teams. Neither the Cleveland Browns nor the Philadelphia Eagles have yet to win a game in 2024. However, by week 6 of this season we should have a good idea of what kind of a team the Browns are. This road game against a tough NFC opponent will be another test for the 2024 Cleveland Browns.

Most pundits and experts see this game as a loss for the Browns. I am not so sure about this as of June of 2024. I remember last season seeing this team pull of upset wins at home against the San Francisco 49ers and on the road at the Baltimore Ravens. The Philadelphia Eagles are a stable and respected NFL organization. They have a history of stability and consistent winning. The Cleveland Browns are still trying to reestablish the same for themselves.

The Cleveland Browns still face national perception of dysfunction and losing. This is despite making the playoffs twice in the last four years. The only way for the Browns to overcome that perception is to win and win often.  And eventually that perception will dissipate. A good start for the Cleveland Browns will be a win in Philadelphia week 6 of this season.
