Major League Baseball Mid-Season Awards: The National League

Continuing my 2 part series on major league baseball midseason awards and turning my attention to the National League. You can read part 1 here. The National League has what I believe to be some candidates that are a lock, and I will not have any disagreement (or not much). You can’t look at some… read more

The Dodgers Hosted an Anime-Themed Game For Weirdos and It Was the Best Idea Ever

One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a baseball game happened on July 5. With no disrespect intended, this is not about Joey Loperfido’s juggling home run robbery, nor does it concern anything that occurred during the Diamondbacks-Padres dogfight, and none of the seven home runs the Pirates hit against the Cardinals have… read more

The Rise of the New Face of Major League Baseball

Over the last 5-10 years when thinking about the face of Major League Baseball, I think of Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Altuve and a few others. While most of those men are still relevant to the sport, I believe that the torch has been passed to the next generation of talent. A… read more

Contemplations on Correcting LA’s Kicking Quandary

I feel confident that if the Rams had a reliable kicker on the roster last season, not even a great one but just a reliable one mind you, they would have beat the Lions and made it as far as the NFC championship. Every time that LA got in the red zone during that game, the play calls turned ridiculously timid, as if McVay was terrified of losing the chance to put up an easy three for once instead of pushing for the touchdown. Not to mention the long third down attempts that would be a field goal attempt under more normal circumstances.

Additions of Williams and Curl bring Experience and “Violence” to Rams’ Secondary

With three members of last season’s secondary in the free agent pool and one having already signed with another team, the Rams needed to add some DB help in free agency. They did just that in the first few days of the legal tampering period, signing two under-the-radar stars in CB Darious Williams and S Kamren Curl. Here a few things that you may want to know about two of the newest members of the LA Rams…

Browns Quarterback Room: We Like Flacco, but Browns Still Need Emergency QB

Quarterback room does not have enough healthy bodies in it to handle an emergency. They needed to add someone to the roster when Deshaun came up with a bum shoulder, but instead they just HOPED that Deshaun would be completely healthy, and that 203 pound Dorian Thompson Robinson could carry the rest of the load if called upon. NOW they realize that they need someone else, and went after oft-injured, 38 year old Joe Flacco. Well, that’s cool, but they should still sign one more guy to the Practice Squad, and all this should have been done months ago rather than wait for Deshaun to go down and DTR to have a concussion.
