Around the AFC West: Week 2

It was an easy week two for the Los Angeles Chargers as they knocked off the Carolina Panthers 26-3. J.K. Dobbins is looking like a great free agent addition in L.A. This week he carried the ball 17 times for 131 yards and a touchdown. Justin Herbert had a pretty quiet day throwing for 130 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. That was plenty to secure the win against the worst team in the league.  The Chargers head to Pittsburgh to take on the 2-0 Steelers on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs got a late go-ahead field goal from Harrison Butker to secure a 2-0 start with their 26-25 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The win did come at a cost, however. Running back, Isiah Pacheco was injured and will be out for six to eight weeks. He had 90 yards rushing before the injury. It was not a great day for Patrick Mahomes who had just 151 yards passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but he did lead the Chiefs on a nine-play 43-yard drive to set up the winning field goal. The Chiefs play the Atlanta Falcons in week three.

Gardner Minshew and the Las Vegas Raiders pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the week when they beat the Baltimore Ravens 26-23. Gardner Minshew threw for 276 yards with one touchdown and one interception. His favorite target was Davante Adams who saw nine catches on 12 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown. Rookie tight end Brock Bowers also had nine catches for 98 yards. The Raiders play host to the winless Panthers and Andy Dalton on Sunday.

Bo Nix is not good and neither are the Denver Broncos. They fell to 0-2 with their 13-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Nix threw for 246 yards and was intercepted twice. Courtland Sutton only had one catch for 26 yards on four targets. Sean Payton should probably look for ways to get their best offensive player more involved in the game. The Broncos play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week three.
