AEW Full Gear Results: Jon Moxley’s Reign of Terror Continues

Jon Moxley retained the AEW World title at the Full Gear pay-per-view last night in a bloody brawl over Orange Cassidy in Newark, N.J.

Cassidy, who defeated Moxley at last year’s Full Gear event, showed tremendous brawling ability and toughness in defeat.

Moxley’s Death Riders interfered, causing Cassidy’s Conglomeration buddies to even the score. Willow Nightingale even showed up to neutralize Marina Shafir.

However, Wheeler Yuta drilled Cassidy with the Busaiku Knee Kick, leading to Moxley’s Death Rider DDT for the win.

Another brawl took place after match, with Christian Cage almost cashing in his World title shot and Darby Allin stepping up as Moxley’s future challenger.

FEELING THE HURT

Former WWE champion Bobby Lashley won his first pay-per-view match in AEW, defeating former World champion Swerve Strickland. Lashley won with the “Hurt Lock” full nelson.

Konosuke Takeshita defeated Ricochet to retain the AEW International title. This was Ricochet’s first loss in AEW.

NEW CHAMPION

Daniel Garcia captured the TNT championship with a win over Jack Perry. Like Private Party, Garcia was “toughened up” by the Moxley crew before winning a championship.

“Switchblade” Jay White beat “Hangman” Adam Page for the second straight pay-per-view. Since Page is a former World champion, White should be in line for a title shot.

“The Proto-Star” Kyle Fletcher established himself by defeating Will Ospreay. The former member of the Aussie Open tag team hit a brainbuster onto the top turnbuckle (!) to score the victory.

Mercedes Mone defeated Kris Statlander to retain the TBS title, even after leaving bodyguard Kamille in the back. Mone avoided Statlander’s Night Fever piledriver and rolled her up for the win.

MJF beat Roderick Strong and attacked his arm after the match. Adam Cole made the save with The Kingdom, but Kyle O’Reilly shoved Cole down and blamed him for Strong’s injury.

Private Party retained the World tag team title with a win over The Outrunners, The Acclaimed and Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black & Brody King).

Mariah May waited for months to have a “champagne celebration” with Mina Shirakawa. It was a trap, but Mina was ready for it.

She avoided May’s champagne bottle attack and tackled her off the stage through a table.

ZERO HOUR PRE-SHOW

Big Boom AJ (of TikTok’s “Costco Guys”) defeated QT Marshall in a match that the fans loved. AJ’s son, Big Justice, hit a spear on Marshall. They celebrated with another social-media kid called “The Rizzler” after the match.

Anna Jay defeated Deonna Purrazzo in the opener.

Buddy Matthews won a four-way bout over Dante Martin, Komander, and The Beast Mortos.
